St Andrew’s School Environmental Program of Recycling Plastic Bottles

In October 2010, a guest speaker Mr. Richard Tang addressed the students to create an awareness of the benefits and hazards of plastic in our environment. At the end of the presentation bins were introduced and teachers and students were encouraged to, apart from the plastics bottles used in school, to collect their plastic bottles from homes and recycle in the school bins.

So far, an average of about 6 jumbo bags of discarded bottles are collected weekly where they are stored and picked up periodically by one of our parents and delivered to one of the plastic collecting depots throughout Trinidad.

So before you toss that bottle into a household bin, stop and think … “can it be collected and recycled?
Lets help to preserve our environment for our children and future generations.
